Mike was introduced to photography at an early age. Around 10, his Dad handed him his first camera - a little Brownie. From there he soon migrated to a twin lens box camera, which he still has, and learned to develop photos in a darkroom, often printing black and whites in the bathroom while home "sick" from school!

Through the years, Mike's skill with photography branched into professional TV and video production, as well as audio and music. All along, still cameras were involved, and in the past 15 years Mike has returned to photography as an art form. As low resolution digital cameras were being snapped up by consumers, he discovered that a high-end scanner works as a special camera unto itself, producing and showing large, highly detailed prints of isolated backlit flowers.

With the advent of great quality DSLR cameras, Mike has returned to his roots completely. His focus on nature and landscape continues to develop into images like you see here, as he peers deeper into the beauty and visual intrigue of the world around us.
